Immunohistochemistry

immunohistochemistry banner

The Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Laboratory uses antigen-antibody interactions with special staining techniques on fixed tissues to facilitate diagnosis of infectious diseases and further characterize neoplastic diseases, including prognosis in certain tumor types, such as the canine mast cell tumor. These tests may be performed on tissues submitted for histopathology as requested by the submitter at the time of submission or after conferring with a board certified pathologist in charge of the case. Researchers are encouraged to submit projects for immunohistochemistry from our current list of antibodies or for the development of new immunohistochemistry assays not currently offered.
