Bovine Trich Sample Handling Reminder
As we move into the busy bull breeding soundness and Trichomoniasis testing season, KSVDL offers three tips to better assure testing accuracy.
- Samples must be submitted in an InPouch™ TF pouch or tube
- Samples must be maintained at 59° to 99° F after collection and during transport to KSVDL
- Samples must arrive in the lab within 72 hours of collection
When shipping during the winter, placing 2-3 ice packs warmed in a microwave in the shipping container will help keep the samples from becoming too cool.
