Kansas Practitioner Survey

Recently, the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association (KVMA) and the Kansas Board of Veterinary Examiners (KBVE) conducted a survey targeting all Kansas licensed practitioners. 515 veterinarians participated in the survey, resulting in a response rate of 30.2%

One of the findings is highlighted in the table below (permission to publish granted by KVMA and KBVE.)

One of the questions included whether the practitioner respondent offered after-hours service. A surprising observation was the percentage of practitioners who see bovine and equine patients, but who do not offer after-hours services.

Animal type seen in practice % Affirming after-hours service available (n)

Bovine

47.3 (247)
Companion Animal 49.2 (414)
Equine 48.0 (198)
