Update on Tularemia Test Results: 2021-2025

Over the last five years, KVDL has identified 45 positive Francisella tularensis animals in the U.S. The map below indicates the states where the positive samples originated.

The map below indicates the positive species and general locations identified as Tularemia positive from 2021 to present. This is a reminder that species other than rabbits and felines can become infected with this important zoonotic disease.
KVDL will presenting an update on other zoonotic diseases at the 87th Conference for Veterinarians hosted by the Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine in Manhattan, KS on June 3rd.
